I will be driving to Vancouver and am looking to stay two nights (7/9 & 7/10) in downtown Vancouver. There will be two adults traveling. I'm mainly concerned with getting 1) the best price and 2) good location.
So far I've searched on Hotels.com and Expedia. I've seen stuff in the $100-$150 range but am hoping for something cheaper (I thought there'd be a glut of hotel rooms since the end of the Olympics). Can anyone help? Thanks
Good prices can be had by utilizing price_line with the assistance of betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com. IMO, you are not going to get a room in Downtown Vancouver at a 3* or 4* place for under $100. Take a look at reported winning bids on those two website, which will give you a realistic idea of the best price you can score.
I disagree with your "post-Olympics" Vancouver comment. If anything, the city of Vancouver is now "on the map" more than it ever was. Also, your dates are smack in the middle of Alaska cruise season. And you are not booking very far in advance.
