I will be driving to Vancouver and am looking to stay two nights (7/9 & 7/10) in downtown Vancouver. There will be two adults traveling. I'm mainly concerned with getting 1) the best price and 2) good location.

So far I've searched on Hotels.com and Expedia. I've seen stuff in the $100-$150 range but am hoping for something cheaper (I thought there'd be a glut of hotel rooms since the end of the Olympics). Can anyone help? Thanks

Nothing?

I think your expectations are unrealistic.

Try Tripadvisor.com and sort by price.

For a decent downtown hotel, the best I see is $111 per night.

There are plenty of rooms for less, but you may have to share with the roaches and mice.

Best of luck... Vancouver is a beautiful city.

If you like seafood, they have great BC Salmon and Smoked Salmon.

Try hotelscombined.com

2 3* hotels <100 for your dates.

BTW I don't get your logic about post-Olympics hotel prices.

your welcome.

Good prices can be had by utilizing price_line with the assistance of betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com. IMO, you are not going to get a room in Downtown Vancouver at a 3* or 4* place for under $100. Take a look at reported winning bids on those two website, which will give you a realistic idea of the best price you can score.

I disagree with your "post-Olympics" Vancouver comment. If anything, the city of Vancouver is now "on the map" more than it ever was. Also, your dates are smack in the middle of Alaska cruise season. And you are not booking very far in advance.

Priceline and Hotwire will get you under $100.

Did you ever find a deal here? I can use onenow

Went to Hotels.com...found a pretty good deal...

I used Hotwire and got an excellent deal for the Holiday Inn right on Granville. $109/night over Labor Day weekend.
