Radeon 5870 376.04 or 5850 284.26 +FS +no tax in CA at Tiger Direct after Bing CashBack
First use the term 'laptop' in bing search to find the TigerDirect link for 8.3%
Or Try This

As of the moment shipping is free and BCB appears to still work

search for 5870

XFX model = 409.99 = 376.04 after bing

HIS model = 409.99 = 376.04 after bing

XFX XXX model = 429.99 = 393.39 after bing

search for 5850

Visiontek = 309.99 = 284.26 after bing

XFX XXX = 324.99 = 298.02 after bing

Good luck!

They ship from Illinois if anyone is curious

Florida, North Carolina, and Illinois are Taxed

Wishes of good karma are always appreciated

Tax for me in FL, but still good prices ABCB for those w/o tax. ~$28.70 tax on $409.99. $348.49 + $28.70 = $377.19 not bad still even with tax.

edit: math fail ^_^

Ok I must be doing something wrong here. I go to bing.com and type "radeon 5850"
On the search results page I get the normal articles reviewing the radeon 5850 etc etc and at the bottom before the "Next Page" I see this:
VisionTek Radeon HD 5850 - graphics adapter - Radeon HD 5850 - 1 GB »
VisionTek Radeon HD 5850 - graphics adapter - Radeon HD 5850 - 1 GB

*
o Price ·
o from $278 ·
o 10 stores ·
o [Bing CashBack] Bing CashBack

Ok... so when I click on that I only see a 10% Cash Back deal from TigerDirect. I can't find a link for 15% anywhere.

I tried going to bing.com/shopping and going to the TigerDirect bing store and had the same results. Did the deal end or change or is it based on region or something? I've been poking at this off & on since the deal was posted w/ no success.

Thanks for any help

read the post, search for laptop to get the 15% CashBack sponsored link (or just click my link in the OP)

A 100 new XFX Radeon HD 5870s were sold on eBay for $149 each yesterday. Folks were snapping them up 10 at a time and all sold out in a couple of hours.
I bagged one for $138 (using Bing's eBay CashBack) and we'll see if the seller makes good on the deal.
The seller claims it purchased too many of them to put on custom Alienware machines and he just has to get rid of them.
One wonders how much these cards actually cost to the retailers. Can the retailer mark-up be over 100%? It boggles the mind.

ehh i think youll be getting a 4870, he'd have got rid of them just as quick for 100 dollars more a piece. good luck though that would be pretty sweet

WUT? $150? report back

it's always a scam. Quick way to draw cash and run.

Where is that Geneva Watch thread when you need it most.

I'm sure paypal had his account automatically flagged and funds held though.

Ok, it was my AdBlock extension. It was removing that thing up at the top, so I got it now. Sorry bout the confusion, but at least anyone else that reads the thread will know now =)

Ah yes, the first rule of Bing is to disable adblock. I have bing.com whitelisted.. I only use bing for CashBack anyway.

I hope its not a fraud. Seller has sold quite a number of Alienware systems on eBay before. The item number on eBay is 110504644560 - (search completed listings ) He also sold 200 Core I7-920s for $80.

I'm just dumbfounded that the seller just don't sell it to other retailers for much more.

Anyway Paypal should have all buyers covered.

eBay buyer protection isn't going to last long, its another huge scam like this on these forums every 2 days

I changed my mind. If he sold i7-920s at $80, then I think you are in trouble. He could easily sell just as fast at $150 and $300 for the 5870.

He sold 200 Core i7-920's for $80? Why doesn't any of his feedback indicate any i7-920's? I don't think you'll be getting those 5870's.

If its too good to be true......

The reason the price drop on the 58XX cards is Nvidia cards are coming out in a few weeks.

Yeah whoever bought these is in deep shiat. Guy goes from selling sushi making materials to High end computer equipment.....uh huh.

Lets assume ( because we don't really know yet at this point ) that it is a scam.
Can the seller honestly think he'd get paid by Paypal? That was what he insisted to be paid.

His shipping is notoriously slow. Postpone delivery for two weeks. Get money, close account.....done.

Seriously people. That's like me saying. "Damn, I ordered too many Ferraris. What dealership? You'll pay me 200K each for them? Naaaa, I'll sell them on a street corner for $10K each."

No one is that stupid.

I browsed the eBay help pages and there does not seem to be any easy way to report 'suspicious' sales. My stake is just $138 for the one card I've bid on so I'm inclined to just let Paypal cover the loss after a couple of weeks, if the seller does indeed turn out to be a fraud. I wonder about those who bought ten or more units - they should be more concerned than I am.

msage, just make sure you don't retract your dispute if the seller says it was the delay in shipping and ask you to retract it.

Thanks, Pun. That's good advice. Just heard on the grapevine that Newegg mistakenly ships 300 fake Core i7-920s. This guy sold 199 (Not 200 - my mistake) of the same processor yesterday. Hmmmm... Maybe if it the HD 5870 does ship the card should be checked carefully. It could be a budget 5450 with a big cover over it. .

Lets get back on topic please. poor dude got scammed paypal and eBay will work with him -the end.

edit

WHy are you bumping your own thread? The cards are about to drop in price due to the new Nvidia release shortly. This deal is cold.

Did you notice he's getting negative feedback? Canceling those i7 920s already......WHO'D HAVE THOUGHT!

Now the 5870 folks are getting their cancellation notices. LOLOLOL
