I've owned this camera and I ended up selling it to a teenaged girl. It's ok for basic use in broad daylight, but it's standard def. The zoom on it is very good, as are the optics and the fact that it records to SD cards is nice. The not so nice is: The camera stills it takes are absolutely atrocious. I'm talking horrible and not good for anything. I know this is a video camera, but it should be capable of taking somewhat ok images. The low-light video quality of this thing is utter junk. when I say "low light" I mean any video that isn't taken in broad daylight. if you're indoors at all, it will have grain on the video. There is a little LED light built into it to help with close up subjects, but my advice is to avoid this camera and find something better for a few hundred dollars more.
