It's a great offer, you may be able to order basic cable for 5-10 more. Installation is likely to be extra, and runs around $30, but perhaps can be waived.
You can also order by phone during business hours: 866 970-2185 Promo code 67776

These guys have been around for a while, and are legitimate. My friend received his money when he signed up a year or two ago. I'm surprised I don't see them mentioned more often.
edit: That modem is DOCSIS 2.0 and the Wifi only supports WEP according to Motorola. Worthless. The rest of the deal is still good.
merlin2375 said: Make sure to ask what it's going to go to after 6 months, probably double.
Here is the answer, right on their website:
* Offer expires 12/31/2009. Rates and availability of promotional pricing vary by market. Limited to Comcast Cable Video customers in wired and serviceable areas only. New High-Speed customers only or former residential customers with accounts in good standing who haven't had service for the last 120 days. Rates and availability of promotional pricing vary for non-Comcast cable video subscribers. Receive first 6 months of Comcast High-Speed Internet for as low as $19.99 per month after service activation. After promotional period, regular monthly service charge of $42.95 and equipment charges (if applicable) will apply. Cable modem and other equipment required and not included. Not combinable with other offers. Installation options and rates vary by area. Prices do not include applicable taxes or franchise fees. Use subject to Comcast High-Speed Internet Terms and Conditions. See official terms and conditions.
The only hope is that one could probably keep getting an extension on the deal by "threatening" to leave them for FiOS or DSL.
got in on this afew months ago. still waiting for the rebates ($100 modem and $100 service) to arrive, but both say they are valid.
they offered either $19.99/6 months online, when I started chat session with them, they offered $25/1 yr, I choose the 1 year because it worked out to be cheaper in the long run. ($19.99 * 6 + $42.95 * 6 = $377.64, where as $25 * 12 = $300)
I don't have any other comcast service so it's not a bundled price.
Installation cost is $99 now. They'll charge you shipping for Modem and separately for Wireless Router. ~$16 for both. $19.99 promotion is if you are already a customer. If not, then you need to add another service. Basic cable and HSI comes to be $29.99.
Go to a closest mall or comcast kiosk. Mention $19.99 promotion and get it. No strings attached. AND no installation fee either. ( I got mine YESTERDAY ). You wont get the modem and router though. But you can buy a "WIRELESS MODEM" (Router + Modem in one) for ~60 bucks or so online. So I would buy that instead.

Congrats on your deal with the devils guys. Comcast is the worst consumer company in America and they are taking over everything.

It may not have WPA2, but maybe WPA is sufficient for some, at least better than WEP.
I need to try mine out as I really dislike the DLink WiFi router I have where you need to specify not just wireless but also wired connections if you want to only allow connections by specific MAC Addresses. Some smart engineers there at DLink (or whoever makes the firmware). That's definitely one thing I miss from my old and faithful 802.11b Netgear WiFi router.

I signed up about a few weeks ago through comcastoffers.com and also didn't see the $19.99/month on-line but when you're activating the service, you'd have to call Comcast up and that's when they put down the rate for your HSI.
The number I called was (877)857-2943. I think I called that number both before placing the order (to verify if they'd give the $19.99/month rate) and after (to activate). A CSR from comcastoffers.com said that the fact that you'd eventually get a lower rate wouldn't affect the rebates as long as the order is placed through them.
I signed up for this at the end of August through this site (they also run broadbandoffers.com) and Comcast couldn't find my order anywhere in their system. I had to go in to verify my identity to start service since I was new to the area and Comcast as a customer. They recreated my order almost correct (missing $10/month of discount on my television package) and my rebates say they're valid (comcastoffers.com rebate details confirm that if Comcast has to recreate the order, as long as it's identical they still honor the rebates). Submitted and received 9 weeks ago, but haven't received any of them yet and getting kind of frustrated waiting forever for $300 in rebates, but at least the website says they're all valid.
I was offered to get free self installation kit. so installation is free. I was offered at $29.99 per month but will try to lower the price when I sign up...

i bought the cable modem free after rebate from comcast offers , but the Comcast technician who came for install would only install and test the modem he brought. It seems, I need to change the modem myself later and return the comcast modem
I signed up via broadbandoffers.com in mid september, shipping on the modem was free (it's a modem/wireless router combo), and they offered $19.99/month without any other comcast service for 6 months, or $25 for 12 months. Like I said in an earlier post, I choose the 12 month.
there was also a $100 rebate on the modem making it free, and another $100 rebate which means first 4 months free.
I only had to pay tax on the modem.
Installation was $25, the tech did not force me to use his modem.
Offers from this third party are not available by calling the Call Center; they don't even have access to the codes. So, no changing rates for current customers.
These are a sistersite of broadbandoffers.com which has been doing this deal forever. I did it once and got the money, did it a second time at a different residence and didn't send in the rebate.
It's somewhat hard to remember to send it in and get all the paperwork done (need first bill which comes after two months)..that's their business model though, gambling that you'll mess it up.

Good info about the kiosk....thanks...
but according to the fine print... "Installation options and rates vary by area", so it might be free or reasonable elsewhere. Where'd you see 99$?
What happens is after signing up for 6 or 12 months and I need to move? Does the contract transfer to the new location (local move) to avoid early termination fees?

Sounds like a bad technician to me, because you definitely didn't need to have them install their own Comcast modem. I have my own modem/router and they installed it no problem! I also got my installation fee waived because when I made the appointment for installation no one showed up. Then when I called to ask why I took 4 hours of work off only to have no one show up, they told me my appointment wasn't for another 10 days. Which was total B.S. because when I setup my appointment they specifically asked if "tomorrow" works for me. And in my world, tomorrow doesn't mean 10 days from today, but rather the very next day in the calendar after the current day....Other than that, it's been great!
BTW, I also went with the $100 rebate plus free Surf modem from comcastoffers. I started my service two weeks ago.

I guess we only get Cox in my area. Does anybody know of any deals through them?

If you go to a mall or kiosk, you won't get the $100 back, which is the core part that makes this deal awesome.
Also, installation is free for HSI. It's usually $20--$30 (depends on your area) for basic cable if you don't have it. Just call Comcast directly (nothing to do with this deal) and have them install basic cable+. Once this is done, you can do this deal, and just call in and give them your modem info for them to *activate* HSI (no additional installation needed).
+ BTW, they might offer some "digital package (cable)" deal for say, $100 a month, where installation is free. You could get this, and then downgrade to basic cable without penalty on the second or third day. Effectively, your installation would've cost you $3 then.

Just now got deal from Comcast, New Customer
28.99 for basic cable + HSI (6 MBPS) for one year and no contract.
It looks like good deal I will know if it is correct on my first bill. CSR did confirm that infect he is giving me this deal. Tomorrow is installation.
edit - forgot to add $19.95 installation for basic cable.
$19.95 for 6 months is the regular promotional price at Comcast.com. This is 6mps, however.
Each time we call Comcast we get another rate for the same services. Weird.

I got in on this, too, here in Sacramento, CA. I originally had the double bang (digital cable + HSI) along with Showtime, HD Channels and modem rental for ~$80 a month for 6 months. I called again to have my package adjusted. My new package is now Digital Cable ($29.99) + HSI ($19.99) + HD Channels ($3) + Showtime ($1) + HBO ($1.67) + modem rental ($5) = ~$61/month for 6 months! I am one happy customer!

Given all the negative feedback about Comcastoffers.com rebates, I decided to go directly with comcast and signed up with a Comcast kiosk guy at the local BestBuy (Mountain View, CA): HSI $19.99 for 6 mo + cable $29.99 for 6mo. That qualifies for $150 rebate from comcast and a free installation. I am planning to cancel the cable service after a few days and only keep the HSI. Also, we got instant $35 off a wireless cable modem Motorola SB6120 at BestBuy for a final cost of $64.99+tax. If the rebate goes through, it should cover the cost of the modem and the first four months of the HSI.

I used to have Comcrap, but now have ATT uverse, I pay $94 a month for HSI, U200, and HD services, and DVR and price will not change, with Comcast its only a promotional price for 6 or 12 months then your bill doubles. been there done that. I have been with ATT for over a year now. no problems.

Is the $150 rebate requested to Comcast or somebody else?

The rebate is directly from Comcast, but the fulfillment may be outsourced. I don't know all the details yet. In any event, I am hoping for better treatment that from comcastoffers.com
The offers I see from Comcastoffers (or Broadbandoffers) only show digital cable and no options. Do we call to add HD channels or DVR? Any idea what these options cost?
I did the comcastoffers promo back in August. I read the rebate applications VERY carefully and mailed them in after I got my first bill from Comcast as required. I just got all three Checks In The Mail for $199.95. Less than 3 month wait.
I was hesitant because of all the "comcastoffersm.com suck" posters on fatwallet but they came through for me.
I'm also very happy with my HSI. 13meg down and 5meg up!

I cancelled my HSI about a month ago (a bit after the end of my 6-month promotional period) and didn't get any such $1.99 charge.
