http://blogs.msdn.com/livesearch/archive/2008/12/01/you-asked-fo...

You asked for it: instant CashBack!

When we asked users about the improvements they'd like us make to Live Search CashBack, many said they want to receive CashBack instantly instead of waiting for 60 days. Well, I'm happy to announce that we've just released the Instant CashBack feature with eBay. Instant CashBack will be eligible for some, but not all users. Eligible shoppers will be notified online after completing a purchase on eBay.

Go shop until your fingers go numb!

It'd be nice to know the criteria for this.

Why don't they just process all the pending CashBack then? I am still waiting (have another 30 days or so left) on some of my older, but higher $ amount, transactions.

So do they filter by users or purchases? The post leads me to believe some users will get instant CashBack, but others will not.

did this just unveil what they have starting doing? No difference really?

The blog post noted above is already starting to accumulate 'feedback' about live.com's BF performance. Gonna be interesting to see how long they let that happen...

You had to open a brand new thread for this announcement? Couldn't you have just added to the main thread?

I received an Instant Rebate this morning on a medicine cabinet, then the next one(designer purse) was not instant. Both sellers were power sellers with 100% positive feedback.

We've heard what you've wanted and will be giving it to some of you determined by a process that is not identified!

I received an IR this morning. Basically, if the item cannot be returned to the seller than you maybe eligible for this deal.

I got it yesterday.
The seller must be use eBay checkout to be illegible. If he uses his own, then no IR.

ty op, this is good to know without having to wade through the other 200 page thread

its not even consistent for the user:

i did 3 eBay CB transactions so far, 2 wait 60days, 1 instant...difference? None.

I think you're correct. I just went back and checked all my transactins and the ones w/ instant CashBack states "The seller does not accept returns for this item". The sellers that have a return policy or don't state a return policy aren't eligible for the instant CashBack.

Well, I think they did it that way to prevent fraud. You buy something for $670, and you $200 CashBack instantly. And 30 days later you return it, and you get your full refund back $670 and you gain $200.

in the Live CashBack FAQ it says that if CashBack is rewarded instantly AND you decide to return, the system will recall the CashBack (and I'm guessing leave your paypal balance negative). They will get you.

I have no respect for anyone who would pull that kind of stunt. Isn't enough that someone's giving people 30 percent off? Let's hope there isn't a lot of that going on (even if unsuccessful) so as to dissuade companies like MS from doing this in the future.

so there is no way to tell if you will get instant CashBack before you commit to buy?
