FYI,
I purchased this set about four months ago from Frys when they were running a deal for the set and two pairs of active 3D glasses for $399.
I don't use the 3d much although it does appear to work well with my DirectTV 3D stations.
At $400-500, I consider the set a good deal for a low price 42" inch set. Don't let the 720 resolution scare you off.
The glasses were worth $65/pair (each) at Frys
Unless you will be setting closer than 5 feet from the screen, you won't notice the difference from 1080P.
The glasses are active versus passive, rechargeable and comfortable.
I would prefer this set to most of the low-end 40-42 LCD/LED's that you see around for about %500.
Not as good as a $700-$1000 set, but no where near the price.
I believe that the current issue of Consumer Reports TV's this month. This set rated low compared to the high end sets, but not terrible.
A friend at work picked up a Samsung 43D450 plasma for $350 recently and is quite happy with that set.
Again a reasonable picture at a cheap price.

Thanks for the input. Decided to pick one up. 399 would've been a steal, but no tax and free shipping will help a little.

Not knocking the deal, but this is a 720p set and not a 1080p set. Please fix the title OP.
