I am debating between this and the following w good reviews and solar charging and still half the price.. http://mobile.buy.com/ibuy/ProductDetail.aspx?sku=214563534
I got one of these through Daily Steals a week ago for ~$32.00 after discount. I charged it and tried it yesterday. I have a Ford Ranger extended cab truck and mounted it on the sunvisor. A friend I talked with said that, after I or he finished talking he heard a burst of noise on his end. The unit was not as good at picking up my voice as I'd hoped and I had to speak a little louder than if I were holding a conversation with a person in the cab with me. It also picked up road and wind noise--I thought it was supposed to suppress that, from what I'd read. Also, positioning the unit was a little fidgety. If I put it on the visor and swung the visor to my side (making it closer to my head to hear it better), he couldn't hear me very well. It had to be on the visor in front of me, with the microphone pointed down, before the voice pickup was okay.
I'd love to try one of those built-in vehicle BT setups with my phone to see if the factory jobs are better. I'm sure the unit is functioning as it should, but don't expect miracles.
Bought the Supertooth Light a couple years ago, which has the some audio processors as this but no CallerID-to-voice feature, and it works great. Easily as good as the $200 bluetooth adapter integrated with the Pioneer deck I installed in my other car.
