This is a Target clearance so YMMV. I was at the Target on Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills and they had 3 unopened boxes on display. It's a mini fridge with dry erase door and marker. 2.8 Cubic feet.

And holy cow, 9.75% tax!?!?
Nice catch. I got sweet talked into the warranty by a real nice old lady at the register. But actually the $4 plan was for the $22.25 fridge... The $1.24 item was a 1GB thumb drive also on clearance...
Damn! I bought one (also from Target) about 3 weeks ago for $80. Any way to price match and have Target refund/credit the difference? It's $5X, man! Thanks.

Welcome to CA.
The good folks in Pico Rivera and Southgate (close to Bell and Maywood - all paragons of civil service virtue) pay 10.75%.
Our various state employee "associations" are campaigning to add their own sales tax increments.
This is of course, in addition to the "2nd" highest income tax rates in the country (9.5% if you make $47K), and a whole host of illegal taxes they call "fees" in addition to horrendous property taxes. In LA, for instance, we pay not only 8 Post-Prop-13 property surtaxes "for education" (A+AAA+J+BB+K+Q+R+Y), we also pay an illegal $435/year property tax disguised as a "trash fee".
(I could go on for pages delineating the 50-odd other taxes I paid last year, along with the dozens of city/county/state intrusions into our lives, but this isn't a Tea Party thread.)

luxury tax, lcd tax, etc. etc. depressing. yet, the state budge is shot to shite. i don't get it, and have no idea why i'm moving there soon.
Update: On the other deals forum someone found one in Huntington Beach. Sticker said $45, rang up $22.25. The prices on these should be coming down... I saw some in Redondo Beach marked on clearance off only $10 to $75.25 but didn't scan them. Best to lug it on over to the price scanners and see how much it really costs...
$75 in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania as well. This was clearance and is still a great price IMO considering the 1.6-1.8 cubic inch refrigerators go for $75+. I got one and there were 2 left, and 1 in pink for the same price. The lady said there were 4 in Brandywine (Delaware ie no sales tax).
$75 in Harrisburg, PA as well. The store had about 10 of them left. I'm wondering when or even if they will be coming down in price. I also wonder why the difference in prices from state to state. Weird!
I'd advise checking up on the stores that have them to see when the prices drop. I checked stores that had the units previously and now they are all gone which leads me to believe they've been clearing them out.

why would they have it run different state to state though? if its normal for target, it just seems weird for me.
maybe i should have said not weird to those of us who follow Target clearance stuff (see long standing thread on Target clearance). Target clearance prices vary from store to store, even for stores that are less than a mile apart.

wow, good information to know! does anyone know if you buy something on clearance and then price goes down, will they credit you back the difference? can you even return something on clearance to target?
Target won't credit the difference. You can make a return on clearance merch, but they won't resell it to you at the clearance price. It goes back to the floor when that dept person does their reshops.
