Might be a better deal at Sears if combine with a coupon and Cash Back.

i saw this deal a week or two ago at this price or lower (Sears had a 15% off electronics sale), but with tax and s/h it was still much more expensive than at Amazon.

fwiw, the kit lens is actually quite good. there isn't another lens in that range that is that much better unless you want to spend lots of money. i have the canon 17-40L and the 17-55 f/2.8 IS, but i still bought the 18-55mm IS kit lens last year when it was about $80 after 30% bing CashBack on eBay.
