Sam's Club
See Sam's Club discounts that earn 1.0% cash back.

They really push at the register to get you to upgade to the plus membership for these eValues. Looks like they are trying a different approach with this. Glad Costco coupon offers are good for all membership levels. Sams needs to do the same.

the sorta nice thing is that you can check the prices online because click and pull has the instore pickup option.

(before evalues)
Rubbermaid
50pc sku: 896643 $19.98
dove 339850/25773/840941/25794: $11.93
tide 813057/677097/600451/742128/600418: 19.98/26.88/19.98/na
dyson vaccum 102255: 399.00
zyrtec 351889/384867: 35.98/na

if i'm intepreting the chicken coupon correctly, it's practically FREE? (it's a $2 coupon off...unless Sam's Club plans to jack up the prices during that week...)

na=not available (i'm in MD)

great find OP , i did not know about e savings at sams ,good to know

thanks!
good news!

this looks like the Costco system?

"all" != "Sam's Club members"

Costco coupons are better or the same. I am getting a refund on the plus membership as it is not worth it, If I am lucky, I saved maybe $40 for the year as what sams has on coupon, costco has all the time or they have monthly coupons at costco that are for more items in 1 month that sams over over 6 months! Sams plus is a ripoff, the computers were $100 off a couple of months back. I just do not see how sams competes with the likes of costco and bj warehouse????

I am with you here. Also cancelling my membership for refund.

I have a paid membership at Sam's, and now find out I have to pay "extra" to get the real deals. So I guess I am paying to walk in the door, but not special enough to get any deals. This really makes me steamed. And it is pushed on me every time I check out. I hate this enough that it is making me re-evaluate renewing.

At Costco I get coupons and rewards for having a membership - which I could upgrade to get extra percentages back on my American Express . With Sam's I have to pay for the upgraded membership to be able to buy certain things each month for a reduced fee.

With Costco I feel rewarded; with Sam's I feel cheated.

EXACTLY.. sams is going to lose me to cost-co if they dont' tighten up

I would agree the plus membership is not worth it. $60 extra for coupons that will mostly not be used is a waste. The only thing I like is the offer for no monthly fees for using Sams Club as a credit card processor if you have the business plus membership. That's the only reason I would upgrade (if the business ends up accepting cards).

Are the eValue coupons only B&M?

I live practically next door a Sam's but yet never been inside. Always go to Costco.

Also I think Plus membership gives the 3yr extended warranty option for products for free rather than additional cost.

You still pay for a 2 year warranty and get the 3rd year free as long as you stay a sams club member. But, I have not heard good things abthe cout the sams club warranty. I have experienced the costco warranty and it is the best!!!! WOW, they went out of their way to fix it right and fast!

Is the laptop deal only on one specific laptop? That's what it looks like from the email I just got. If so, that's a shame, since there's a 14" HP on the website that could be a good buy at $100 off.

I prefer Costco, but have a Sam's in town while Costco is an hour away. This is the first I'd heard about the eValue stuff.

This is my dilemma as well. Sam's is so much closer, but I really like the items in Costco a lot more. My company offered a membership with a $20 gift card to Sam's so I figured for $10 I might as well try it. I use it, but probably not as often as I would a Costco membership.

One small detail to add - as a Sam's member, when I got this email, I briefly wondered if it was only good if you bought the item(s) ON your Sam's card - using it as a credit card, as some members do. Turns out the discounts are good no matter how you pay.

Also, a question for any Sam's Plus members since I'm not - do these discounts seem similar to the everyday prices you normally pay, or are they a little lower than your prices? Thanks.

I'm no longer a member (canceled earlier this year when I left their CC processor who gave a free membership), but I can comment on two of the products on that page:

Zyrtec - buy their store brand. It's like $17 or $18 for a 350-count bottle.
Chicken breasts - I know there are only like 4 chicken companies in the country, but the Sam's chicken is terrible. Tough and gamey, we switched to the Perdue individually wrapped breasts and they're so much better.

Not worth the extra money - however, will stock up on paper towels and TP..

Sams is the best value as Costco is over an hour away. I buy bread and milk every few days. Save a buck a gallon and I get three gallons a week. It adds up...

result speaks for itself, sam's have twice as many stores as costco but only earn half of costco's revenue per store. it's just wally mart in bulk packaging, not worth the hassle and there is really no discount to speak of.

swamperC said: EXACTLY.. sams is going to lose me to cost-co if they dont' tighten up

They already lost be to BJ's

We 'shop' So, if items are on sale and have coupons, supermarket is a better deal. However, without coupons, sams have better deals.

If Costco or BJs would be closer, then I might switch...

2 HP options really, none cheaper than $899

In general, Sam's Club has a strange mix of items that are occasionally the cheapest price available. But the pricing on many items is very suspect, no better than a regular retail store. Prices on things like vitamins and packaged food goods are the best or nearly the best, while many of their DVDs or Blu-rays are horribly overpriced. Costco is the better run chain, but Costco is not quite the super bargain it used to be a decade ago.

For years Sam's Club told us to "Why we dont have coupons like CostCo" -- that it was because "Our prices were at the lowest price already without the coupons". Now they are essentially trying to match CostCo's rolling coupon system.

Looks like CostCo is putting some pressure on Sam's Club's sales/revenues. I for one am glad (I am a member of both) but these deals do not look that great to me. When I received the email about evalues -- I pretty much ignored it. Not sure why OP got so much green! (Not that I care -- good for him

I will second that (once again -- being member of both) - my experience is that for EXACT same item Sam'c Club is usually cheaper by few cents (they must have planned that way). However, they are more like WalMart in the sense that some of their items are low quality compared to CostCo (which pretty much makes sure you don't have to worry about quality). Also, Sams Club has much less selection than CostCo.

Oh -- and cloths -- those can be REALLY cheap at Sams Club (specially if on sale).

Service sucks at SamsClub.

Sorry -- did not mean to take the thread OT - but again wanted to point out that these deals are not that great.

Some of you are lucky enough to have the option of Costco. I have to drive 4 1/2 hours for a Costco! I hate Sam's, but it's all we've got. There are some things I buy regularly, so I keep the membership. Sure wish we had a Costco!

great.

-- don't fret much; while I prefer CostCo, for regular items it is really about the same or better at SamsClub. Quite often, clearance deals are better at SamsClub. But quality and service is much better at CostCo. But you are not really losing much if you have SamsClub and not CostCo (and vice-versa).

Looks like Sam's Club's answer to Costco's monthly coupons ( which are free).....except Sam's wants $60 to give you the evalue coupons.
Costco quality and customer service blow Sam's Club away.

optical said: I live practically next door a Sam's but yet never been inside. Always go to Costco.

You are fortunate. We have only Sam's here. I've never been able to figure out why people would join so they can pay such high prices. Costco, OTOH, offers genuine savings.

Joined Sams while there was an ongoing promo with gift card , had costco prior.
our Costco u have to clip coupons , not automatic and half the time the item u want has coupons next month after u have bought the item .I have also noticed better hours and service at sams when compared to costco( I suspect this is secondary to the locality of the club itself )

Sad but alot of the time WalMart beats Sam's price per lb on most food items that both sell. Not much different in paper goods either.

Sams and Costco are great for some.
For food items....
almost always their price can be beat by safeway, Fred Meyer Albertsons etc throughout the month.

Can any one tell me about BJ's? How is their deal?
Thanks in advance.

Skipping 2 Messages...

Last time I bought Gatorade (about 2 months ago) it was $9.98 (have the receipt for it). Yesterday when I went the price went up to $14.98 - $3.00 evalue. We are pretty avid Sam's shoppers with the Plus membership. DEFINITELY not impressed seeing this. Sam's is only like 3 minutes from our house which is why we go there. BJ's is about 20 min and Costco about 45. Not much option elsewhere, but seeing this definitely turns me off to them. All this while I'm paying $100/year for a membership with "discounts". I can get a discount on a BJ's membership @ $30/year. I should just drive the extra distance and shop there... At least they actually give you coupons without jacking the prices up and making you pay an extra $60 membership fee...
