This camera when first released cost $400. The camera is able to shoot hi-speed video so that you can replay it in slow motion. Bought it for my son to shoot gymnastics and replay in slow motion. This store delivered it after 5 days for the low price: http://www.emicrox.com/Casio_High_Speed_Exilim_EX_FC100_BlackCas...
You can check aboves model lower cost cousin (shares many features) - NEW CASIO EXILIM EX-FS10 COMPACT HI SPEED 9MP DIGITAL CAMERA for $79.99 shipped. When checking reviews on this lower cost model, the basic complaint was grainy pictures in low lighting ... a common problem in many lower end -or- poor designed camera's. I took a chance and ordered it and received it yesterday ... shoot about 60 pics in sunlight to very, very dark. By chosing some of the options, I was surprised and pleased how well the camera performed. Some pictures I took (about 5-8 feet from target) building was so dark I guessed where target was. When I pushed button down half way, target/range lighting turned on and camera gave "Green OK" to take the shot .. image came out very well.
Good call, that is a very good deal! The FC100 offers a better lens, and image stabilization which is important for video. Amazing that the FS10 was selling for $350 and now sells for $80.

It's actually not very amazing to see electronics drop in value.

So he bought a high speed camera for his gay son. Real question is how reliable is that merchant?
Actually, bought camera for straight son who wants close up and slow mo replay of the girls.
I am sorry, I meant where is the deal for the FS10 for $80. Thanks.
I found it! Its the present daily deal at pennywise.biz. But just blue and grey are available now. Yes, that is the same camera I purchased (see my post - 3rd from top - page 1). Purchased mine through Shnoop, you found their sister site "Pennywise". Have purchased from both sites, no issues. The FS10 is a very nice camera for $80 shipped. If I have any issues with camera is holding camera in "Portrait" position .. should keep flash to "camera top". This puts the controls to "left edge", an awkward position for my hand .. but that is just me.
Have to use manual controls because it makes such poor judgements.
ie light from cfl's inside = iso 800 dark and grainy
same metered amount of sunlight = perfectly clean on auto
You need to be in a light box to shoot fast motion without massive post-processing to denoise.
Great gimmick - the only camera that actually produces is the big boy. top of the line big one consumer and prosumer Before I purchased the FS10 for $79.99 I read the reviews. For my needs, normal "single frame - point and shoot" I was pleased with the performance. As stated in the reviews, "1000FPS" is mechanically possible for $79.99. Can you expect HD quality at "1000FPS" absolutely not for $79.99. BUT .... Some day when I'm really bored I may "setup/stage a scene" with abundant lighting, very close-in framing and see what I can capture at "1000FPS" .... with my $79.99 rig.
We have two cameras in my family in the under $200.00 range and both have too long lag time. We try to take photos of the grandchildren or dogs or cats but by the time the cameras actualy take the shot the subject has turned their heads or moved completely out of the frame. Low light photos are mostly blurry. My wife says she can overcome some of the difficulties with manual override settings on her camera. My older camera (Sony cybershot dsc-s780) doesn't seem to have override. The Casio looked promising using the burst function and sort through 600 photos for the perfect still shot of the scene, but reading reviews it appears in less than perfect conditions these cameras do not perform so well. I'm just looking for a camera that is fast enough to catch the scene that I see on the LCD when I press the button. Anyone know of such a camera under $200.00 or $150.00 range?
