guess it would seem overpriced to people who don't have any money and blindly hate all-things-apple.
1% back on an item that can't be purchased for a discount.. better than nothing.
That's $5 on the base model. Not much of a kickback...
And the iPad, despite all of the cool things it can do, is really limited overall. Throw in the fact that you can't use most iPhone Apps on it and it really is a waste.

yeah $5 isn't much but if you were going to be buying one anyways.. Not saying it's a "Hot Deal," but good to see it off the list of exclusions.
It's limited, in a good way (IMO), but I've never had any problems doing what I need to do on it.. only thing I wish it had is infrared (or, preferably, start making tvs/receivers with some kind of wake-on bluetooth or wifi)
All iPhone apps work on it. Some aren't as pretty as they could be (since they're just pixel-doubled) but in some cases using the jailbreak+fullforce mitigates this. That one is on developers though.. Still waiting for a Facebook iPad app.

Actually, you can use all iPhone apps on it - at least if they don't require iOS 4. Apparently there's still a lot of iPad FUD out there.
It's good for what it is. I know people that love it and have junked their laptops (they sync to their desktop and do heavy lifting on their desktop). I myself think it's convenient as an e-reader.
Why is Apple so strict on who can sell the iPad? Aside from Apple, the only companies that I've seen selling the iPad are Best Buy and CDW...and they can't even sell it online. Apple is pissing in the faces of all of the resellers who have sold many, many Macs over the years and also pissing in the face of consumers by limiting competition. This is ridiculous...it's just a goddamn tablet.

Apple is too arrogant and controlled with their tech. Moreover, they do not even realize that we are currently in recession and how many people can affort a $500 Ipad. I am so looking forward to table tablet runs on Android and much more affordable.
