Picked up on Tuesday. Wrote 1.3GB file within 3'34" - it's definitley above 6MB/s. Mine is also made in Japan.

I gather the source varies betwixt Japan and China but don't know if it makes a difference.
The rebate was "renewed" again from July 30 to August 12 but not again (yet).
Does anyone bother with certified mail for these larger rebate amounts? Hypothetically, if Parago denied receiving (thus losing UPC and a copy being unacceptable to them), is Fry's accommodating or are we SOL?

The rebate has been "renewed" yet again from 2010-08-18 to 2010-09-02.
I got one previous which likewise writes at 6.8 MB/s. Also made in Japan.
I'm thinking of getting another but want to confirm the limit of one rebate does not apply to different offer numbers.
