The Acer Aspire Revo AR3610-U9022 - Blue Factory Refurbished Desktop is back in stock at $249. Tax ($21.54 Georgia) and shipping ($20.30 to Atlanta) kill it for me, but it's the cheapest I've seen one of these for a while. This is a great HTPC and the extra upgrade from the 1600 are worth it (dual core, win 7, wireless...)
* 1.6GHz Intel Atom 330 * Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) * 2GB Memory * 160GB Hard Disk Drive * 802.11b/g/n * Wireless Keyboard & Mouse
- That one can be overclocked Linky - Has a low profile pcie slot for a better video card, TV tuner, built-in wi-fi, etc - Uses standard sized drives, perfect for an internal BD-ROM drive - Still in a SFF yet large enough for cooling - eSata, important to some - Same price
I know, it has Vista...

Hoping for some feedback... will this be enough as a 1080P front-end to a WHS? Most of my movies and recordings will be on the WHS, but I plan to run Win7 Media Center and Boxee on the front-end to also stream from Netflix and Hulu.

Been kepping an eye on these for a while and doing a good bit of research. I'm fairly certain it does have SPDIF. By what I have read there is a piece of white tape over the input for some reason and the connection doesn't show in many online pictures. I have heard very little complaining about noise and most seem impressed with the noise level.

And here is a chat I had with the Revonate site.

Rich: yes it does Don: Thankyou Rich: welcome Don: Do you get the keyboard and mouse with it also? Rich: yes there wireless Don: Thanks again that's all Rich: also comes with the stand Rich: np Rich: have a nice day
Has anyone actually got one of these from Revonate?. If so was the Revo in good shape. I've read some mediocre reviews of them and was hoping for some feedback from actual customers.
I have the R3610, bought it from PCConnection. It does have SPDIF. Unless it's changed recently, or just and old stock photo, but on mine, right between the windows sticker and the sd card slot, theres an spdif port, and just in case you're unsure, the words SPDIF next to it. =) The issue with the tape covering it is many people (like me) threw it away, and then later discovered that in the dark, the unused/uncovered spdif port emits an annoying bright red light.
hmm... add basically $40 for tax + shipping (seems like they charge tax in every state).. gotta think twice at that price range if a refurb is worth it..

I have ordered and received one of these from renovate. Actually this was my post in May. The Revo arrived in great condition. Still had original stickers. All files (manual, etc) are preloaded on the Revo. One tip that took me a while to notice, the usb RF receiver for the mouse and keyboard is located under the battery door of the mouse.
I am using it with Win 7 Media Center as a live TV PVR. I have an ATI/Diamond HD750USB tuner and a Mygica U6012A tuner. Both are hybrid tuners because I have analog cable. It works great, but Media Center has quirks with 2 tuners and "low bit rate" & "no tuner found" messages.

Any idea where to get a new one. Seems like they are drying up and the ones left are going for a premium from questionable retailers.
