Make sure to read the ingredients on this, free or not, some of these more readily available dog foods contain mostly corn and/or grains and meat by products (feet, ears, snouts?) Not sure about this one, I just know free isn't always worth it.

FYI, this is probably not what's best for him. The first four ingredients of Purina Beneful are "Ground yellow corn, chicken by-product meal, corn gluten meal, whole wheat flour." I recommend picking a food that has real meat as the first ingredient. I buy Blue Buffalo for my dog (first four ingredients: Chicken, Chicken Meal, Whole Ground Brown Rice, Whole Ground Barley). I like it since I can get it at PETsMART and Petco. Sometimes it's inconvenient to go to the locally owned dog stores.
Thanks for the post though! This could serve as a backup in case you can't make it to the store in time to buy more food.

I tried my dogs with the Blue Buffalo, and they wouldn't eat it. But they do eat Hills science diet, and a few other better brands.
Beneful is generally a higher quality product which sells for a bit more than most dog foods but not as much as the brands sold by vets and some pet stores. Thanks OP.
