This is not a free in the mail magazine subscription, it's free access to view the magazine (not consumer reports online service). Got a library card? Check to see if your library subscribes to Ebscohost through their website. Search the masterfile section. Click publications and type consumer reports. The current issue is now available, previously there was a three month embargo/delay be fore you could view the newest issue. Articles are in pdf, full color (with pics and charts) and also able to be emailed and printed.

Quick Summary is created and edited by users like you... Add FAQ's, Links and other Relevant Information by clicking the edit button in the lower right hand corner of this message.

Gosh - A few years ago I was able to do it. But then could never remember how I had done it. I do have access to Ebscoost... Green for you OP...

GALE is another potential source, if your library doesn't subscribe to Ebscohost! Anyone with AKO access through the military has access to Gale through the My Library portal...

You need to go to YOUR library's web site. You need to be registered at your library and have a library card. You might need to setup online access with the librarian with a username/password. Then when you login to your library's web site, you can request books, renew books, and also use the reference or research tools which would include the Ebscohost and/or Gale. Good luck.

I view mine on Alabama's virtual library EBSCO database.

So happy to see this getting green! (I'm a librarian, what can I say?) If you are affiliated with a college/university library, you will have probably have even greater access to current issues and archives of magazines and journals than at a public library, especially if you have Lexis-Nexis.

I have can access this service, according I got an email from my library. I have to 'search'
for a specific item. What do put in the search box, to get a current magazine?

After I search for Consumer Reports I see a list that includes

EBSCO ( TOPICSearch )
or
Gale ( General OneFile )

Is anyone seeing else seeing this? Does this makes sense?

It's great to be able to access this magazine.

happy6610, I don't know the details of your library, but it probably just means that they have access to Consumer Reports through two different databases, TOPICSearch by EBSCO and General OneFile by Gale. (Databases sometimes overlap in content.) Clicking through either of those links should take you to the full text of the magazine.
