"settlement class includes all persons who, between May 5, 2002 and May 24, 2010, had a credit card account with Citibank (South Dakota), N.A., or its predecessor Citibank USA, National Association, and who paid periodic finance charges that were assessed from the beginning of a billing period in which the periodic rate was increased as a result of a default or delinquency that occurred before August 20, 2009."
This is just an informational post; I am not in the class but saw this information...hope it helps anyone affected.

I just got a tiny notice on my August Citibank AAdvantage AMEX statement. Looks like a pretty crappy settlement (apparently the most you can get is $18). The notice says I MAY be in the class. Kinda weird. You'd think they would know who they screwed. More info is at http://casenosacv06571.com/.

They make it hard to get refunds because you need to know they screwed you years go when they have these records.
The "plaintiff lawyer" agreed to this as part of the agreement to get 18 for us and 2.5 million $ for the atty. I wonder how much they would pay him if he actually put the burden on Citi to check records?

This is stupid. It only applies if you did not make your payments. In other words, if you get rate increases, but paid you bills anyway, it is not in default, so you don't qualify??????? Why only give to people who don't follow the rules. You would think there are consequences for not paying your bills. I think I will stop paying my bills and ignore my responsibilities so I can get some freebies. lol

The rest of us were given proper notice that our rates were going up [to try to cover losses created by those defaulting].

I knew Citibank did some bad business with the periodic rates, they will increase occassionally each month. They need to go after banks when your checking account has insufficient funds and they charge you for all checks that post from the highest to the lowest. Then you are charge the higher amount and the lower amount. I know this is a ploy to get as much money from you as possible. Bail out full of garbage the banks didn't do a dime to help the American people. Foreign banks always help with people in need that's why they are able to start a small business...All politician need to look into why American banks don't help The people who are born in the country...Thank You (Courts)
