Also, I can't find the second 300 minute Airtime card in the product detail.

hzh003 said: Also, I can't find the second 300 minute Airtime card in the product detail. There is only one airtime card. The phone will get 300/60 upon activation and then there is an additional included card for 300/60. Total of 600/120.

Go through the website and not the OP link, it will show up on the Phone List page.

Look like you didn't pick the right phone...the one for $30, not the one for $20.

nvm, i clicked on the LG 300 (refurbish) not the LG 600 (reconditioned one)

Thanks, great deal.

Got one for $22 plus CA tax less the 10% Fat Cash rebate!

Thanks OP

Just ordered LG300 couple days ago... Seems this is a better deal...

Thanks OP, it's a great deal. I need one for a guest, ATT pre-paid phone is a ripped-off with $1.00 access fee per day. People, please read his post and follow his link, everything went well for me. Use your brain, not your a$$ and stop complaining.

Net10
phones use a prepaid card (say the 300 minute card).
This card means the phone expires with 300 minutes of use OR 60 days whichever comes first.
Good thing is, if you are on day 55 with lots of minutes left, get another card, and activate it, and the days and time left on your phone roll-over to the new limit.

can this phone be used with tmobile? how do I unlock it?

.

I have and account with Tracfone now, and I pay a flat fee
of about $5.75 a month for service, and I buy minutes only
when I need them.

I don't believe Net10
has this service.

So where is the cheapest place to buy minutes please?

No these phones are locked to Net10
, I was going to make a thread on this early next week, after I ordered a few more!(LOL)

crystalgun said: Should merge this thread into the old thread.
Not everyone read the old thread and would miss an update about a new phone.

Been reading the old thread for a while now, and while there is a lot of great info, I still have some questions.

1. I did not find any info about porting your old number to your new NetTen phone. Is that doable?

2. At the beginning of the old thread there was a lot of talk about transferring minutes/time from multiple phones to a single phone in order to keep the same number.. In the more recent posts on the thread it seems that is no longer the case? Can anyone clarify?

Edit: It would seem they stopped allowing you to do this about a year ago, from what I read. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks!

300-min card is $30, so it will cost you a min of $15/month to keep it active & that will get you 150min/month.
Good deal if you don't already have a phone.

If you don't use many minutes, and already have an unlocked GSM phone, T-Mobile will only cost you $8.33/month (even less if you buy your $100/1yr card discounted, get you 83-mins/month, and you only need to refill once a month rather than every 60-days.

THANKS!

Congratulations, Local Portability is available in your local calling area.

To Port In your existing telephone number to your Net10
and obtain wireless service provided by Net10
Wireless Inc., you (the Subscriber) must agree to and check each of the following Terms and Conditions:

1. You must have a Net10
.

2. The number you are Porting must be active with your old service provider.

3. The Port could take up to seven business days.

4. You must keep your Net10
service active by adding airtime within Net10
's guidelines for maintaining active service. If your Net10
service does not remain active, you will lose your wireless Net10
Number

5. Until the porting process is completed, should you need to call 911 for emergency assistance, you must give the 911 operator your location as the 911 operator will not be able to reach you until the port process is completed.

6. If you switch your home telephone number to Net10
, your home telephone service will be disconnected.

7. If you have a password or pin with your existing account it must be provided in order to process your request.

If you agree to and have checked all the above Terms and Conditions then simply click accept or click decline to return to the home page.

Huh....so what happens during that "up to seven business days of porting?" Which phone is working? Both? Neither? Thanks.

Your current phone will work until your old one is ported over. That part about if your coverage lapses you will LOSE your number, would scare me. Doing prepaid at 60-day intervals could easily get forgotten. Usually though it would just be your unused minutes would expire, and that you would have another month or two to add more minutes before it would actually go to inactive status. I have an emergency prepaid T-Mobile I keep in the car and have trouble remembering to top it off once a year.

Already knew about the 600 minutes since that's been offered for a while now but the coupons are saweet !!!

PS It Took less than 24 hours to port my number over...

I sell 300 minute cards for $25.00

Net10
does not have any programs like Tracfone. You must buy an airtime card for continued service.

You can port your existing number to Net10

The 300 "free" minutes that come with the phone activation are not transferable to another phone. Once you use the free minutes and add additional minutes, those "paid for" minutes are transferable. Even though the airtime card is free with the phone, the minutes from the card will be considered "paid for" minutes and can be transfered.

They will transfer the free minutes for you if you call them, or you can do it online. But they will still kill your phone for transferring the free minutes.

You do not have to use the card on the phone it comes with. You can use it on any Net10
phone. You can buy 2 phones and use one for 60 days, then activate the second one and use both free cards on the second phone. You can transfer the number from the first phone to the second phone without transferring the minutes if you haven't used them all. Do not activate the second phone if you want to transfer a number to it, if you do you will have to wait for them to send a new sim card.

Once the service days expire the unused minutes will remain with the phone for 30 days. Additional airtime added within that time will recover the unused minutes. Your phone number "may" be lost with service expiration but the number usually remains tied to the phone or a couple of weeks.

Porting usually takes 1 to 4 days. Your old phone should remain active until the port is complete, then the new phone will be active.

Yes,you can transfer minutes. No, you can't transfer FREE minutes(those that you get when you activate the phone}.

Thanks all....especially jimates and AishaDad, as I have seen you both answer other questions as well. Thanks.

Decent deal compared to what we currently pay with Verizon. If service is good in the Bay Area, I will have to consider using Google Voice so that I can keep one number.

LostConsumer said: can this phone be used with tmobile? how do I unlock it?

Can only be used with Net10
. Not worth unlocking. Net10
uses both the T-Mobile and AT&T networks (roams at no additional charge) with the LG600G (GSM phone).

Well wouldn't you know that some grinch would step in and add a couple comments

WELL HERE I AM! (just kinda kidding....) but seriously....

speaking as a looooooong time Tracfone and Net10
user, I feel it is my FatWallet civic duty to warn people that their customer service, uh, a contender for the worst on the planet.

The Good: Most people likely will never need to contact them. On-line activation works well, and overall the refurb phones are just fine. Plus the fact that they try to select the best provider for your area is really a major plus. Since the phones themselves keep the remaining minutes and date data, you always know AND they are good at politely reminding you when you get close to the expiration date from your previous refill.

The HoHum: Lets say there multiple providers in your area. When buying locally, you can look at the package and decipher who the phone is for. When ordering on-line, you might not get the best phone for your area in the same situation. I've had this happen.... T-Mo is spotty, ATT is better, I've received T-Mo phones, I've tossed out nearly 300 included minutes due to a useless phone.......

The BAD: ...... That Net10
will do nothing about as they just don't care. Net10
/Tracfone CS phone number SHOULD be 666 When you DO have to contact them, you will curse the day you bought a phone from them. Plan on an hour or two, with frequent holds (don't believe their reasons either). I was without a working phone for over 2 MONTHS last year due to a series of defective phones and countless SIM cards being mailed to me. I was sent a phone for the wrong carrier for my area, and tossed it - loosing the "free" time. Life is too short to deal with this flaming idiots when that sad day comes along. And remember, you have to call them to port a number in. Luck there is a roll of the dice.

Now we continue with our regularly scheduled discussion already in progress!

hzh003 said: nvm, i clicked on the LG 300 (refurbish) not the LG 600 (reconditioned one)i wonder why so many people are redding you. you ought to tattle on them. set them right!

My son, who lives with me still, has a Net10
phone and his provider is T-Mobile. A friend of mine who lives 5 miles away with his Net10
phone gets ATT.

So if I sign up and use my friends zip code will I get ATT or is it still a toss up?

do you know if ATT is blue SIM card and Tmobile is black or the other way around ?

Unless Net10
comes up with some new deals, they are going to lose a lot of customers.... at least when everyone runs out of cards and phones!
