Price: $199.98 Instant Savings: -$70.00 Price after savings: $129.98
-$25.00 ejunkie $25 off $75 coupon -$50.00 old printer trade in credit --------------------------------------------------------------- Final $54.98 + tax
Order on line using $25 off coupon from ejunkie or eBay and choose to pick it up in store. Bring in an old printer (check craigslist for free printer if you don't have old one) when pick up the MX860 in store to receive $50 credit.
This look really hot to me for a good all in one printer with wifi and duplex capability. I'd jump on this deal if I don't already have the Epson Artisan 810. This MX860 has an unique DUPLEX ADF (Auto Document Feeder) that fed both side of the document automatically with out manual flipping.
Hmm.... Looks like you can get chipped refills for these. I was waiting for the workforce 610 to come back as a deal but this might be an optio -- anyone tried both and can weigh in?

IMHO, this is a better machine for home use than the workforce 610. Photo print quality is better and it has built-in auto duplexer that print on both side of the paper. It however, is a little bit slower, consumes more inks and inks are more expensive than the Epson. But if you're going to use refill ink from third party. TCO would be very comparable.

Staples doesn't give you $50 credit for the trade in. They do a return/rebuy transaction and use an internal discount code for the $50 trade in. Generally this negates the ability to add back on the $25 coupon and it takes a manual intervention override from the store manager. This was the case since the trade in offer started a couple weeks ago. Huge YMMV.
Valid 1/31/10—4/3/10. For in-store purchases, save $50 instantly when you recycle any printer in store and buy any new printer for $199 or more, regular price. For online printer purchases, recycle your old printer at any Staples® store and receive a $50 credit on the credit/debit card you originally used to purchase the eligible printer. Must have proof of online printer purchase during valid dates and the credit/debit card you originally used to make purchase. Must recycle printer in store by 4/3/10 to receive $50 credit. Not valid on prior purchases. http://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/products/090315/merch023626/index...

Henny is correct. I think it's a hit and miss with getting the $25 coupon on top of the $50 credit. Some have been able to do it but it's not a simple transaction of just crediting you $50.
For the trade-in, it says $199+ regular price. That could be interpreted either that you have to pay $199 or more, or that the printer just has to be $199 normal price, but if you get it on an instant savings then OK. I think a store manager would probably take the stricter interpretation and say that you didn't pay $199 so you aren't eligible.
Also, on the $25 coupon, it says not valid with other coupons. Since the trade-in is entered as an internal discount code, that may be considered another coupon?

And do you really think you are the smart one who just "caught on", while everyone else is just day-dreaming?
I still have a dot matrix printer that I've been thinking of ridding. Will they take dot matrix? Any success stories out there? Heck, would they even know what it is?

I've had that same problem before. But what if one buys the printer online and takes the old printer/receipt back to store for adjustment (this is listed as the option for online purchases + recycling)? Has anyone tried that?
If people are so worried that buying online and doing an instore trade in will be a problem, why not just buy it instore? Ejunkie sells in-store coupons as well. It may cost a little more, but who cares? Is $58 v. $55 going to change your mind about buying this printer?
I bought the 640 last week. $199 regular price on sale for $149. -$20 ($25 - $5 charge) net coupon. -$50 trade in and I paid $75 + tax for it. Great deal and the 640 fit me a bit better than the 860.

So for all of you who are "in 4 1" are you getting the additional $25 coupon in addition to the $50 trade-in?

My experience: I buy the printer (on sale), turn in my old printer, and the manager tells the CSR to punch in a coupon code to give me $50 off for the trade in. Then I hand the CSR my $25 off $75 coupon, they punch it in, and the register applies the coupon, no problem.

Green for you OP! Deal works with online order and in-store recycling in Monterey CA.
For those who are not having luck in-store, I was able to use the following steps with no problems/questions. I purchased online with a "25 off 100" Ejunkie Staples Coupon. Printer qualifies for free shipping. Found a free broken printer on Craigslist and recycled it in-store for $50 credit. When you go to the store to recycle your old printer, you will need a print-out of your order confirmation plus the credit card you used to purchase the printer on-line. The store manager did not ask for any details about the printer I was trading in. Happy hunting!
***DUPLEX SCANNING*** I bought this printer on sale for $180 a few months back. Great printer/scanner, easy setup, AND this is the ONLY one that I could find that also does duplex scanning (automatically scans both sides of a page)! I have even archived some magazines (cut off the spine of the magazine, place it in the auto feeder, save as pdf, done!). it is also one of the better printers as far as cost of ink per page.
About the only downside is that it is a bit large.

got me to bite. i have a b/w laser printer and needed a scanner & color printer. hopefully the coupon/code will stick when i bring in an old printer. I wonder if the problem with coupons is b/c after the 70 and 50 off the cost is still over 75...so 25 off 75 would still work but 25 off 100 wouldn't. just a thought. i wonder if they would give me another 10 off for my 10 off 20 competitor's coupon.
