In the last few years I have had several Seagate drives fail me, so I switched to Western Digital. This deal was to good, and I figured I would give Seagate another try. Maybe i'll pick up a SATA enclosure and turn it into an external drive.
Got one, thanks! I had been shopping for a drive last night and almost ordered one from the egg (still may, I dont trust seagate, but for the price, I might as well have an extra.)

FYI - price shows as 53 or whatever all the way through. The only way you know you got the discount is there is a -$12.xx "Lightning Deal Discount" in the total box. So the lower price will never show next to the item, you just get the "lightning deal" discounted in the final tally.
I had one in my cart from earlier this morning and was still able to check out for $41.03. Maybe that explains them saying it is sold out with 83% claimed; people still have them in their carts.
Got in on this before it died...does anyone have a suggestion for an imaging program since I want to use this to replace a noisy drive that I think is almost kaput...

I use Macrium Reflect, but there are some other free ones listed here.
List Price: $135.99 Amazon's Price: $53.99 (60% off) Greyed OUT ---> Gold Box Discount: - $12.96 Greyed OUT ---> Gold Box Price: $41.03 (70% off)
fixed now! not sure what I was doing wrong....
Nice post OP
Same thing happened to me. I added it to my cart logged in and went to checkout and it didn't give me the discount. I was about to just forget about it but I tried a second time and it worked fine. I think I had a problem like this with Amazon's discounts before too.

Now I have something to put into that Antec HD enclosure I bought in March of 2008 which has sat unused in the box. DAMN FW made me buy it although I had no need for it. I was $5.32 AR and I figured I'd use it someday !!! Seems someday has arrived.
