One cautionary note - do not assume you are getting an amazing price just because of the coupon. Dell is known to adjust (i.e. raise) prices when these coupons are active. I'm not saying it happens in all scenarios - just to be aware. If you've been looking for a certain PC in the outlet for a week or two then you should roughly know what the recent prices were (pre-coupon).
Alienware M17x R2 Intel i5-520M 17 in WUXGA 1200p RGB LED 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1066 (2 DIMMs) 250 GB SATA II HD (7200 RPM) 8X DVD +/- RW w/dlb layer write capability 1 GB ATI Radeon HD 5870 Windows 7 Home Premium Intel 6300 Wireless N $1389
I think the easiest thing to do is to price the system you are looking at new and then decide if it is worth it - I got a Studio 17 i7 with all the bells and whistles for a destop replacement for a little over a grand - that was a little over $400 off a new one so I thought it was worth it. just my 2 cents......
djklmnop said: Isn't that illegal? That's like pricing something at a gazillion dollars then saying 99.5% coupon valid only till Sept 5th! yeah, they should be hanged for doing that.
Anyone else hate the new design of the outlet site? seems alot harder to navigate and find good deals than the old version. Maybe its just me. Is there anyway to get the old view back by going to a different URL?

I need to buy a lightweight lappie for a family member going back to college. She wants a netbook (hence, the weight). Which would you recommend? PM if you prefer.
Thanks for the post OP! Been looking for a good laptop deal for 2 months with the necessary horsepower to run Starcraft II at anything other then low. Got a Studio XPS 16 with a Radeon 4670, 6gb 1333mhz DDR3 SDRAM, 250 gb 5400 RPM HD, and i5-450M for $743 AC and 9% tax.

I just ordered the multifunction Dell 2135cn color laser. I've been using the 2130cn at work with good results and thought $279 to replace the pile of inkjets I have at home was a good idea. I don't know if this applies to computers as well but shipping was free.
Wake up everyone! I am so happy to pick up a Dell 580s with core i5 and a 1gb radeon video, 1tb hard drive and 4gb ram for 495.30 plus tax. Stack this with 3% penfed going back to school Cash Back on computers. I have been searching for an outlet core I processor for the last few days with no luck. But finally this morning they have been showing up! Hopefully the new desktop will assist me playing fantasy football. HA!

sweet! i really wanted a Dell netbook, as ive been so happy with my laptop that i got from the outlet site as well. with coupon its only 199 plus tax. thanks!
Are these laptops typically in good condition? I'm not expecting a brand new laptop but I wonder cosmetically how they are. I also read some laptops were doa or had bootup issues and had to be returned immediately. That doesn't make me too confortable about Dell's 'rigorous testing'.
I wanted to thankyou again OP! Coupon Expires Friday, September 10, 2010. There is still time for a great catch, if your looking for a outlet computer. From experience, check on Dell’s inventory early in the morning. Im talking like 6:00am. By 6:00pm eastern, most of the good models are gone.

I just received my Studio XPS 435T today and it looks & works great so far. It was a scratch & dent item, but the only things I found were minor scuff marks on the black face plate and the tower's bottom feet. For a computer weighing in at 40 lbs, I expected some scratches at least. The total cost for me was $619 - $123.80 (20%) + $34.66 (Tax) = $529.86. And if my ShopDiscover 5% Dell purchase goes through, it should be another $24.76 off. Even if it doesn't, it's still a great price for an i7.
Here are the specs. I'm planning on using the computer for VMware test bed, so will most likely upgrade the memory to 12GB at least.
CPU: i7-920 Memory: 3GB DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz (3 x 1GB) HD: 500GB SATA (7200 RPM) w/DataBurst Cache DVD: 16X DVD+/-RW Video: 512MB NVidia GeForce G310 DDR3 OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
These XPS 435T systems must be popular. They added 20 systems to the outlet this morning with prices varying between $796 to $1,849 and now they are all gone.
