Secondly, what type of quality are you looking for? Is it worth skimping on a security item?
Some stores have leftover generic power generators discounted from earlier sales. Mine has the 2000 watt unit for $100 and the 6000 watt unit for $300.

aldi is a great alternative to lowes/harris teeter etc., we shop for groceries there weekly....if you have a local one definitely worth your time
