Yes, but this one is a very recent model. That's why I posted this. I doubt that the newer models come up that frequently on their refurb list.
And this deal: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/1019368/ was posted here 9 days ago for the same price, and a 17" screen.. It's new.. BUT, it's the older model with core 2 duo.
That's why I thought some folks might be interested in this new model.

If you have this problem, you need to stay away from Windows machines because you obviously don't have a clue as to what you are doing. I guess Macs must have built-in "i-Diot" protection....
I probably haven't spent more than an hour sum total working on all of my Win7 PCs (3) and laptops (2) together in the last 9 months (including the period where I was running the Win7 RC). And I won't detail some of the tortures I have put these machines through during that time. I did boot up Snow Leopard in a VMware virtual machine a few months ago to see if I wanted to build a Hackintosh - it is a nice OS with lots of great features, but I didn't see anything there I'd consider to be worth paying an extra $600 over a higher end Lenovo laptop.
Apple produces nice hardware, but I feel it tends towards underpowered over time (due to slow hardware line refreshes by Apple) and way overpriced for capability.
Not going to say this isn't a deal for the Mac professionals like yourself, but I'll personally pass as I've got better things to do with the money I saved...
I got my Mom's Mini, my old MacBookPro, and I know a few friends that got their computers there too. Deals drop almost every day (and are sold out just as fast too.)
One thing to consider also is that you really only pay the "Apple Tax" once. I could still fetch a decent price for my MacBookPro that is going on 2 years old. The price between a sold computer and a new one is more or less the same in the PC world. A 17" Core i5 should end up costing me around $600-700.

May be you do not need the stuff usually people do. To list few things windows cant do is to share your internet connection over wifi without an external router, using SSH from your terminal without an external software etc. Moreover, users are free to "install" applications wherever they wish, because all the files needed for the application to run are stored together in the package with Drag and Drop Installation, Easy to relocate - The package design allows a user to move an application (even after they have installed it) to a new location without breaking it and causing it not to run, Run multiple versions of applications without conflicts, Exposé makes locating a particular window amongst those currently open on the desktop a simple task, Instead of having all windows grouped together on the screen at once, users can spread them out across multiple desktops or "spaces" and the list goes on.

When you give free advice you are either trying to influence my decision or you are trying to show off. None of the options is appropriate to FW community unless it adds to the discussion.

I can't imagine a situation where something like this is useful. In what scenario would you ever do this over spending the $30 to get a wireless router?
And on topic for this deal, I'd much rather get the new laptop from Amazon for $100 more.

How about: - you're in a meeting room with only one wired internet connection, but there are multiple people there with laptops that need to get on the net. You connect the ethernet into the mac, turn on wifi internet sharing and everybody's online. either that or hopefully somebody remembered to bring a extra wireless router with them.

Maybe I'm just spoiled since the only companies I've worked for are in the tech sector... What kind of company doesn't have wireless coverage in its meeting rooms?

The "Internet Sharing" is available in Win7 (the cheaper editions have to jump through more hoops). Just search for Ad-Hoc, and there is a wizard to walk you through it.
I recently started having to use Mac for work, I would say that Expose/Spaces makes Macs more tolerable because of the silly Document centric windows manager. There are also multiple-desktop windows manager available for Windows. Windows is a lot friendlier to keyboard users like me. While OS-X gives you more freebies that AAPL leeched off from *nix world, it's easy to add SSH/bash...etc on Windows as well. In Mac world, the OS seems to be more polished, 3rd party apps seems more flaky. Windows side have lots more of polished 3rd party apps. At the end of the day, I still go back to my XP + Win7 machines because I can do more with them. YMMV
Dell forgot to put up resale value. My MBP Unibody from late 2008 could easily get $1300 on eBay or Craigslist. - Seriously. If you're not looking for a Mac and have no interest in getting one, why are you here.
