tax free week in VA also (under $20)

the FARewards ream of paper is supposedly any ream, limit 2. (I'm not great on the math, but a person might want to go after the HP or hammermill paper reams $3 rebate offers 10-21352, 10-21353 end 9/18/10 might make it better)

Also, the $50 brother laser printer is back

thanks vivyip. can you provide the links to 10-21352, 10-21353 please?

goto stapleseasyrebates and used the word paper in the keyword, the rebates should pop up.

Are there any restrictions on the Peachtree rebate? This would be a nice opportunity to turn the $120++ ink rewards to cash.

I'm waiting for their system to plug that hole and deduct rewards amounts from the rebate payout.... like it did on earning rewards on the battery deal back at the first of the year.

The last rebate offer was thru Peachtree. So I don't see why they won't let you get the entire rebate amount even if you use discounts from Staples.

I could not find out on the weekly ad where 'upcoming ad' is listed

tiggla01 said: I could not find out on the weekly ad where 'upcoming ad' is listed
On the weekly ad page there are two tabs just under the words "Weekly Ad". The already selected one "Current Weekly Ad" and then the one immediately to the right "Upcoming Weekly Ad".

I'm still waiting on that 1 cent 150 loose leaf paper

Why are they offering the software for free. Are they trying to buy marketshare by giving it away for free?

Could this software be used by a smaller sole proprietership or is it overkill?

They have been doing this for at least a decade.
Hoping to increase market share, and hoping that you won't bother to fill out the rebate form correctly.
And once you have registered, they spam you with additional offers.

tiggla01 said: Why are they offering the software for free. Are they trying to buy marketshare by giving it away for free?

If you're an acct its ok, if not, its overkill. I got it when I started my sole proprietorship. Too much for me (not an accountant). My accountant said that her accounting practice (medium sized corporation) uses it but recommended QuickBooks for me. I've used QB ever since -- it is much easier.

I've done FAR Peachtree 4 or 5 times this year each time paying w/a Rewards check. The rebate comes from Peachtree (Sage) not Staples. Use of Rewards does not affect the amount of the rebate.

If you use a Rewards check to pay for the 'free after Rewards' paper, your Reward for the paper will be affected if you use any Staples coupons or pay w/ a Rewards check.

I have found Peachtree Pro was insufficient for smaller sole proprieterships. Some examaples: you can not import your bank records and you can not record hours worked; for these an other basic features you need to buy a more expensive product.

just curious how do you know if you will be penalized? I used a coupon and rewards check yesterday on the back pack promo and the rebate shows the full value of the backpack before discounts applied.

I was told rewards is just like cash

my post is about ream paper/rewards offer. The backpack was a REBATE offer. They are not the same thing. You won't be penalized on the backpack deal for coupons/rewards.

as for how I know about paper being penalized, it's right there in B&W in the new circular (hard copy in the Sunday paper). Spells out what will happen to you if you DARE USE A COUPON OR REWARDS towards getting the free after rewards paper.

Any Staples coupons or OD coupons w/o tech restrictions show up yet? Last night in Staples email dated 8/1 hinting of upcoming deals, there was a coupon link but it was to last weeks coupons.

** In store only. Limit 2 reams per person or mailing address. Ream paper purchases above limit receive standard percent back in Rewards. Purchase price credited is the amount paid at checkout after application of all promotions, coupons and Rewards redemptions. For full program details, visit StaplesRewards.com.

The last broadcast email I have from Staples was titled "2 coupons + sneak peek the 8/1 Weekly Ad" and emailed on 07/30. The coupons in it were repeats from this past Wednesday's mailing and were intended for this past week.

Peachtree "easy "rebate?

Bought the Panasonic 3-Phone system advertised in the ad for $49. Felt it was a good deal and did not feel like waiting for BF in hopes of saving $10. Too bad the 20% off coupon expired yesterday ...

vickh said: Peachtree "easy "rebate?
No, not easy, mail-in.

Bought Peachtree for $131.99 after Staples 20% off coupon. Used $120 ink reward. Rebate# 10-31642 printed out from cash register. Should get back $165 from Sage.

Peachtree rebate says nothing about being penalized for using coupons. If you use a $25 off $100 or a 20% off coupon, you should make 25-33 bucks (less taxes) off this deal plus the free software! Staples coupons can be bought on eBay if you don't have any.

which 20% coupon? Didnt that expire yesterday ( 7/31) ?

Already expired, but worked fine for me, no beeps at all. Saved me $33, better than e-junkie 30 off 150.

Apparently, the in-store coupons have a grace period of a day built in. Of course, I can not imagine my store cashiers not reading the coupon and upon seeing that the coupon has expired, crumpling it up and throwing it away.

Got a nice checker in my Staples this morning.

Isn't it true that there's grace period of 2-3 day on expired Staples coupons ?

Just to make sure I understand correctly, if I buy 2 of the HP LaserJet paper using your pricing for example then I would get back (without coupon usage):

2 x $10.49 = $20.98 Rewards
2 x $3.00 = $6 Easy Rebates
----------------------------
$26.98 Rewards and Rebates?

that is correct, but you would have to pay the sales tax on $26.98, so could be $2 in tax...netting you $4 profit.

Is how the Rewards work is once you reach $10 or more in a given quarter, the next quarter they mail you a check for the complete amount in your Rewards account, right? So if I had $20.98 then sometime in October 2010 I would receive a check for that full amount of $20.98 (given that I hadn't made any additional paaper purchases this quarter)? In what form are the reward monies sent to you? Is it a check or a coupon that can only be used at Staples or a debit card or what?

So if I am going to get the money right back in October then I might as well buy the two most expensive reams of paper that will qualify to get the additional $3 rebate also, right? If I bought the HP Premium Choice Laser Paper at $16.99 a ream, two reams would give me $33.98 and I could get this refunded to me 100% in October. This seems to be a good way for me to help cash out my Staples gift card. I guess the only down side about buying the most expensive paper reams is that it would increase your tax liability (say from $2 to $3) but then again you would be getting their premium quality paper.

I know at Office Depot they give you 1% back in rewards for almost anything in the store (except when you get a higher amount for copy and print, paper, ink and toner purchases). But, correct me if I am wrong, but I do not believe Staples gives you 1% back on almost everything in their store for rewards. I think with Staples the only items that give you rewards are copy and print, paper, ink and toner purchases, but for the purchase of say, pens and pencils, you don't get any rewards where as at Office Depot they would give you 1% back.

A year or two back I got the Peachtree accounting software FAR, they don't have a limit how many times you can do their FAR software, right? This also would be a great opportunity to use a $25 of $75 coupon and make $25 easily and also help me to cash out my Staples gift card.

MISTERCHEAP said:

ummm, unless a person lives in a state with no sales tax, that'd be true. For most people, hopefully it'll mean the rebate will more than cover the sales tax.

To me, it boils down to how big of a rewards coupon/check you want. The total rebate amount a person will receive is $6 while the rewards check/coupon can range from $6-$30

Also, whatever you do, DON'T use any coupons on this purchase receipt. Even if it's for the scotch tape thing for premier members, don't risk the coupon reducing any amount from your paper purchase.

Staples purchase rewards (separate from Staples ink/toner recycling rewards) are paid out monthly if the payout minimums are reached ($10 standard, $5 premier).

From the programs terms and conditions:

"As of 1/1/10, Rewards will be issued monthly when the value of the Reward is at least $10. Monthly Rewards balances of less than $10 will roll over each month until the minimum is met for that calendar quarter. Rewards are issued to Members within approximately 30 days after the end of the month when the required minimum has been earned in that month. If the $10 minimum has been met for the calendar quarter, any balances of less than $10 will be issued to Members within approximately 30 days after the end of the calendar quarter."

So if the minimum payout is reached by August 31st, the payout will occur in the latter half of September. I can not recall if bonus rewards at Staples like this paper deal are paid out without regard to the monthly minimum payout.

The rewards payout is in the form of a rewards check that is only good at Staples in-store, online or via phone. If spent online or via phone, the rewards check must be spent all at one time on an order of at least the amount of the rewards check. In-store, the rewards check can be spent in up to two purchases: if the first purchase does not use up the entire rewards check, a balance coupon that is good in-store, online and via phone is issued (a balance coupon is not issued for remainders of less than $1). No balance coupons are issued on balance coupons. The rewards check can be printed directly from the rewards website.

Pretty much other payout should occur in September.

Ink and toner, ream and case paper, and copy and print services earn 10% back. Other than bonus rewards, that's it.

There is a newish term to the Peachtree Pro rebates:

"Only one (1) rebate form may be processed per person, company, household, address, receipt or per product version."

To date, AFAIK, no one has had a rebate invalidated for the per product term. For your purchase from several years ago, this is not an issue.

not sure what you mean...but my math is correct.

if the paper is $26.98 before rebates, you'll get back $26.98 in rewards assuming you paid cash. If sales tax is 8%, that's $2.16 YOU DO NOT GET BACK in rewards. The two $3 rebates is $6 less the $2.16 sales tax OOP is $3.84 profit.

How do you get $6 as a rewards check back? none of the papers bpvh outlined with the bonus $3 rebate sells for that little and as you said, my math uses NO COUPONS AND NO REWARDS CHX so you don't get penalized. the rebate SKU's w/rebates range in price from $9.79 up to $17.99. The very lowest rewards check possible with this deal is just under $20 to get the rebate qualifying skus.

think you need to take a closer look at the deals we are discussing here.
